It was fantastic to see so many people volunteer their time to pick up waste and plant trees around the shopping centre as we kicked off the . . . → Read More: Earth Day 2012]]> On April 20^th 2012, Hoarding for Humanity teamed up with Scarborough Town Centre once again to celebrate Earth Day and to share our eco-friendly initiatives with the everyone!  

It was fantastic to see so many people volunteer their time to pick up waste and plant trees around the shopping centre as we kicked off the Earth Day Celebration.  Our Earth Day display was titled “Hoarding to Home” which educated shoppers about our combined efforts to care for our planet by diverting construction material from landfills to the Habitat for Humanity Canada ReStores for resale. All of funds raised go toward building a new home for those in need in the community. 

It was a successful and informative day!

We are very pleased and excited to announce the newest participant to the Hoarding for Humanity team.  We look forward to the continued relationship as we all work toward improving the state of our environment!

On Thursday December 15th, 2011 Oshawa Centre was presented with an award for their participation in the Hoarding for Humanity program and for their generous donation to Habitat for Humanity Canada and Habitat for Humanity Durham ReStores.

After enjoying a catered lunch, Bill Thompson, General Manager; Dan Hansen, Operations Manager and Charly Wellings-Gray, Marketing Director, all of Oshawa Centre were presented with an award honouring their donation of over 5,000 square feet of hoarding material to date.

Mary Bone, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Durham presented the plaque with great thanks and appreciation on behalf of Hoarding for Humanity, Habitat for Humanity Durham and Habitat for Humanity Canada.

Thank you Oshawa Centre for your great contribution to an amazing cause!

On Tuesday December 13th, 2011 Quinte Mall was presented with a plaque in recognition and appreciation for their donation of over 5,000 square feet of hoarding/construction material to the Habitat for Humanity Canada ReStores.

The event began with holiday festivities and then the floor was turned over to honour Quinte Mall’s participation in the Hoarding for Humanity program. Melanie Flynn, Executive Director of Habitat Prince Edward-Hastings presented the award to Alex Benjafield, General Manager; Martha Farrell, Marketing Director and Ricky Griffin, Operations Manager, all of Quinte Mall.

On Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011, Scarborough Town Centre was presented with a prestigious award from Hoarding for Humanity and Habitat for Humanity Canada.

The event began with a celebratory catered lunch which led into words of thanks and recognition. Soon after, Kathy Meyers, General Manager of Scarborough Town Centre and Steven Minielly, Operations Manager of Scarborough Town Centre were presented with an award from Rob Voisin, Director of ReStore Services for Habitat for Humanity Canada.

The award was in recognition for their participation in the Hoarding for Humanity program and for thanks from Habitat for Humanity Canada and Hoarding for Humanity for their generous donation of over 30,000 square feet of hoarding material to date.
